Question Vent Range Hood DOWN?

I'm installing a range vent hood, but my kitchen location is bad for BOTH roof venting (1st floor of older 2 family up-down house) and wall venting (brick chimney in the way). With 300 cfm, can direct the ductwork into the wall behind the unit, DOWN to the basement about sex feet, then out the basement sidewall? The manufacturer recommends a maximum 140 foot straight run. I'd have a total of about 20 feet, plus 3 right turns. I can maintain the recommended 10" x 3.5" ducting the whole way.

Is this a rangehood or a spacesaver microwave with exhaust? There really isnt any reason to vent it outside if you can return it to the room.

Yep

It is a hood that can recirculate OR vent outside. I'd prefer to vent outside for moisture and cooking smell reasons, so I though I would at least ask before giving in to recirculation.
