Red face Tjernlund Duct Booster DB-2 motor failure?

I have the above mentioned duct booster installed in my wall. The purpose of the booster is to provide ventilation under my structural basement floor to avoid mold and moisture accumulation.

Our home is about 4 years old and the motor finally quit on this booster. I am surprised that it ran this long. It is set on a thermostat but it runs nearly constantly.

Is four years about the standard life expectancy of this unit?

I have been able to locate the replacement motor assembly for about 1/3 the cost of an entire unit.

Thanks, Brad
