Question No Upstairs Air Return & have hot rooms

I have a 3 story home with aprox 400 sqft in the basement and 1100sqft on 1st and 2nd floors each.

I only have 1 return air vent and it is 20x30x1. Since I added insulation in the attic to an R45; 2 bdrms are very hot and they do face the south and west with several windows in each room.

My question is that I think that there isn't enough return air in the upstairs. The one return air vent is located on the 1st floor, center of home but near the front door. I don't think it is enough capacity for my size house to circulate the hot air from upstairs to the unit. Should I add a return vent to the upstairs? And is this the likely reason I have 2 hot bdrooms?

Wink

In any 2 story home you need a return up and down to work right .You could run the same size to the upstairs. Then winter use the down cold air and in summer use the up return.
