round duct equivalent of 3 1/4" x 10"?

I need to convert a 3 1/4" x 10" duct to a round (for my range hood exhaust). The 6" round is slightly smaller in area than the rectangular duct (28.2 sq.in. vs. 32.5 sq.in.), but I've been having a difficult time finding 7" round ducts. Would it be feasible to just use the 6"?

Wink

I think if you check most kitchen vent hood are 3 1/4 X 10 to 6" round pipe. If you want to go 7 " Grainger has them 3 1/4X 10 to 7"
It's about 4', straight up through the roof.
You can find 3 1/4"X 10 duct and run it up into the roof jack. They have 3 1/4" X 10 "roof jack
