How to create duct work from fiber board?

Hello and good mornin'. I am asking for a suggestion on installation guides for fiber board duct work. I have a drawing and all the material except the how to manual. Have any suggestions? Or is it not allowed to suggest a manual? I understand if it is not allowed. Thanks in advance, Jeannie

I've never worked with duct board but many of the pro's on here have and will help you out soon. We have no problem helping you with this project.

Wink

Your best bet here Id say is go buy the 3 tools you will need to cut the duct board with. They put the grove's in the board so it will fold up for you. They come with the paper work how to. Make sure you use a good aluminum tape on the seams. I still like tape that's the iron on kind.

You need a "manual D" to read about duct sizing
a Ductulator for proper sizing of the duct is used.
Vee and Shiplap duct board cutting tool and it is wise to use a duct board square. You can substitute it with a sheet rock square.
you will need to cut your duct board and allow for the (3) V cut and end cut(shiplap).

To tape the joints you have to use a certain foil tape for code that
Meets UL 181 A-P standard for use as a closure material on fiberglass duct systems.
Nashau 324A foil tape is the standard.
I'm not sure if I can give links for the tools??

I wouldn't really recommend cutting ductboard with out someone who knows a little about the procedure.
