Baseboard heat covering

I am attempting to remove and replace our older baseboard heating covers. Not only is it a chore to remove, but as I am taking it off stepwise, it seems that the cover must have gone on after the pipe was installed. I went to Lowes yesterday and they don't carry the covers any more, does anyone know if these covers are installed after the "vaned" copper pipe is installed? It would be a complete headache if I had to cut the pipe (or worse, break it) in order to install the covers or remove them.

If you mean hot water baseboard . The pipe and the cover come as one. Not sure what you want Might go to

http://www.slantfin.com they have boiler and baseboard.

Contractor cost for adding heat ducts

I have a 2,200 sq ft house with new high-efficiency furnace with central air. Ductwork and framing is typical 1948 builder-grade trunk lines and ductwork. Adding four (4) heat registers to 2nd floor (addition & bathroom) and one cold-air return (sheet metal panning between 1st floor wall studs. Will involve some tearing-out of plaster wayys on 1st floor and re-drywalling. Contractor quoting about $750 for the job. Nop idea of materials and labor time...suspect a day or two. Adding ventilation to cellar

I have a cellar room currently with no ventilation. I would to turn this room into a useable storage room. It had some form sort of mold that can be seen on the block foundation becuase of no ventilation. This room is half below the kitchen and outside patio. I thinking at least I need to heat this room, I have a heat duct 6 six away, the clearance into the room because of the header jost and doorway is only 3.5 inch, would this still be ok. Do I need to also add a cold air return. Adding only heat to a somewhat sealed off room still cause mold? All duct work can now easliy to installed in the ceiling. ThanksRead More
