Condensation forming everywhere!

I have been doing a little more looking and in addition to the cracked drain pan (addressed under a different post), I have condensation forming everywhere which is not helping the leaking issue. It is dripping from the inside of the condensor (as opposed to running down into the drain pan), forming on the metal inside the unit, and even forming (not leaking) on the bottom of the drain pan (which makes the drain pan kind of useless).
We are experiencing record heat/humidity here, but is that what is causing the extra condensation? Or is something not right?
The "technician" that came out and fixed the hole in my freon line two weeks ago, told me that it didn't matter if the unit cover was sealed good or not. He also told me the drain pan wasn't cracked, so I have taken his advice with a grain of salt. Does it matter if air is leaking in around the drain pipe/freon pipe/door, etc. or should the unit be sealed tighther than a drum. I have tried it both ways, to see if the condensation problem changed, but the only way it goes away is if I leave the cover off completely.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as we would love to have an indoor pool but this isn't what we had in mind.

Thank you.
