Leaking Duct Connector

My A/C system has a main duct and branch ducts to each register. The main duct is fiberglass board material and the branch ducts are of the 6 inch flexible variety. The branch ducts are connected to the main duct with metal "screw-in" connectors.

I have a leak at one of the connections. How should I repair the leak?

Silver tape would be best on duct board. Make sure the duct is clean before you tape it.

air leak

You will need foil tape you can find it at Home Depot or Menards.
Wipe down the area you want to repair to get the dust off and rub across the tape after you put it on, The glue on the tape is heat activated when it sticks, it sticks.
