I put in a new Carrier A/c and heating system with all new duct works 5 years ago. I didn't know the temperature difference (about 4-5 degrees) between my bedroom and living/family rooms until I recently had a baby and had to stay home for a long period of time. I was dying from the heat.
I asked the carrier contractor to fix it. They have determined that my A/C unit has enough ton. Also, balancing the registries (dammer?) won't help with the temperature difference. Both the living and family room have slope high ceiling with one air registry each. They suggested me to 1) either enlarge both registries or 2) add one more registry to each of the family and living room. The cost is about $1,800.
I already spend $7000 when we first put in the unit. Additional $1,800 is too much. Do I have another options?
Many thanks..
