Filter question for split HVAC

Currently I have 2 intakes, one grill is 24*36 and another is 16*20 about 15' apart.
The 16*20 filter is easy to find but for the 24*36 I use to use 3 12*24 and tape the seams until Lowes changed manufactures and now the "12*24" is to big. The inlet to the air handler is 20*25 with no filter due to the others. My question is can I keep the 16*20 and put a 20*25 in and nothing in the 24*36 grill? I change them every 30 days and they are pretty bad.

Thank you

if your 20*25 is at the blower inlet then just use that instead of the filter grills

if you use 2 filters then you will be restricting the system.

a better, but more expensive option would be to have a 4 inch filter cabinet installed

Thank you
That would be super, only problem is the ah is sitting on a wooden ???plenum???? box and I would have to go in thru the 24*36 grill and secure the new 4" filter assembly to the wood box and seal it. It is in a closet in the upflow configuration. The family has allergies and that would prob help I would like a air effects or aprilaire 5000 I think setup

if you are going to install a filter cabinet, use a cheap 4 or 5 inch cabinet and use a merv 16 healthy climate filter by Lennox

If it's not against forum rules can you point me in the right direction on the filter base? I have a 5 ton hp, split, variable sp ah, set at either 350 or 400 cfm/ton. Opening on bottom of ah is 20*25.
Thank you

it really doesn't matter just a cheap cabinet that will accept the 5 inch filter. Such as Lennox Healthy Climate HCC20-28
