Smell in bathroom ( under ac unit in Attic)

We purchase a house 2 months ago and we can not get rid of a smell in the bathroom. We had a plumber come out and checked all the pipes and indicated there were no isssues. It smell like crap. I looked in the attack for a dead animal or droppings, but nothing. The Plumber said it was coming from the area where the AC unit( in the attic). Could this be bad pipes or something from the unit causing the smell?

I'd say no. If it was a drain with the unit odor would be everywhere 1st thing I'd do is pull the toilet and replace the wax ring. If that does not work it will get more costly.

If it were the ac it would smell in the attic too. It almost sounds like a disconnected vent pipe....possibly inside the wall. Tough to find.
