Bathroom venting problems....HELP

We just had a new vent put in our bathroom and vented through the roof. We also had an existing fan in the other vented out with it. Now when we turn the fan on in the main bathroom, the odor vents into the other bathroom. I think the man who did this did not do it correctly. What is the correct way to do this type of venting? I am desparate!!

One vent per fan is the usual way.

Yes, each fan should have it's own vent..

It's always best to watch and ask questions when people are doing work on your house, the majority of them will find any shortcut they can to do the job easier, even if it's not the correct way..

If you haven't paid for the job, don't until he comes back and fixes it properly. As stated, one vent, one hole.

The way he did it may in fact also be a code violation. You might call the local code office for more ammo if you have to fight him on this.
