Bathroom fan question and new to the site

So I live in a 3 story house with 3 1/2 bathrooms. All the bathrooms fans seem to be tied to a single large fan in the attic. Is this a normal practice? Had the standard sniff around when we bought the house and no red flag or issues were brought up. Just wondering. Also seems that the fan isn't working now. Open to any and all help or opinions on this.

Welcome to the forums! Do you have individual fans in each bathroom? Does this large fan come on with each bathroom fan control switch? Is the large fan installed past where all the fans come together? If you could download a picture of the piping configuration, it would certainly help. Bathroom fan vent leads nowhere ???

So my bathroom fan stopped working. Not being a big fan of home repairs I put it off. Tonight I decided to take it down. Wasn't terribly difficult but then all this insulation started falling on me. I looked up and guess what? NO DUCT WORK. The fan goes right into the attic and not even that, it was covered with insulation! What the hell? No way am I getting on the roof to install a duct vent. Is this going to cost me manly $$?

I need to run the 4 inch dryer exhaust line through a suspended ceiling tile. I would like to put a trim ring against the ceiling tile to clean up the opening. Do they make such a thing in 4 inch? I've found stove pipe trim rings, but nothing smaller than 6 inch. As always, thanks for the help!
