Bathroom exhaust fan installation..

Picked Up a Bathroom Exhaust Fan with an Automatic Sensor / Select Dial with Override.. Two Part Question, (1) Could I Not tap into a Wall Plug Recepticle to power the Control for the Fan ?? (2) The Debate is location of the Exhaust Fan, The Mrs. wants to install fan in the Celiling above the Shower / Bathtub.. The Bathtub is a large style one has to step up into with a 24" high side, 60" L X 42" W, 94" from floor to ceiling.. The Exhaust Pipe through the attic space would be less than 6' straight up and out.. Thoughts Appreciated, Cheers Thanks

Since it's in a bathroom.... that receptacle should be a ground fault type.
That fan will need to be GFI protected and the manufacturer needs to have installing it directly over the shower in it's installation instructions.
