adding a dryer

I work as Maintenance Director in an Assisted Living Facility in Florida. We have a laundry room with two commercial front load washers and one very large commercial dryer. The room is interior, so the dryer vents straight up threw the roof with an 8" vent duct. I want to install a standard household dryer right next to the big dryer. Venting the new dryer will be a challenge. My question is, can I cut a 4" hole in the existing 8" duct work and vent my new dryer up into the 8" duct?

I think you would have to put a back flow flap in both vent lines. Flaps would be a big lint trap. I would not do it. I am no expert on this but my first thought.

I think you need to keep the vent for the new dryer 4" all the way out of the building. If you dump it into the 8" the air velocity will be greatly reduced and the lint might drop out of the airflow and collect in the duct.
