Cutting into existing return and supply
Hello,
I have a couple questions.
I have read that it is not a good idea to tap into an existing supply line as it will steal air from the original room, but is it okay or common to tap into a existing return line or do I need to go back to the plenum?
Is it actually against code to go into either?
I am finishing a basement and really not worried about the supply line taking too much air from the original room as it is from a very open concept area of the house and has a few other runs. It would be much easier than running a whole new line.
Thanks
