Bathroom Exhaust Fan Replacement

Hi folks,

My exhaust fan recently died. I took off the grill and removed the motor/fan and I'm left with the picture. Any idea how I can get the actual housing out? I doubt I can find a replacement for just the fan/motor, so thinking the whole thing has to come out.

This is in a condo, so I don't have access to an attic to do it from above.

Thanks

You will have to cut out some drywall to disconnect the bracket it's on.

Have you tried looking for a replacement? There are replacements available for many fans and even if you can't find one specifically intended for your vent box you might be able to make it work.

i had a fan in a past house that got noisy every few years, so I'd replace the fan... not a hard thing to do. I finally got fed up with it and installed a new unit... not an easy thing to do cause they don't fit exactly the same.

Yeah, I initially couldn't see what brand it was because it looks like some paint or something was sprayed over the label after it was installed.

I googled all the numbers I could see on the motor itself and to my luck they still make them (it's about 7-8 years old).

Just ordered one and it will be plug and play.
