Power for oven fan: can outlet be concealed in wall?

Hi. As part of a kitchen remodel we are installing a new oven hood with fan. The fan comes with a grounded plug. Question: can the outlet be concealed behind the hood or in the ceiling? What does the electrical code say for this kind of situation? Thanks for any help.

Just like with a dishwasher you do need to have an outlet, inside an enclosure/box and covered with a cover plate. It must be accessible when the appliance is removed but is OK if the appliance covers the outlet when it's in place.
