Guys - I have a fresh air intake installed by a hvac mechanic but noticed that there is a hole in the damper. Is this the correct way to do it or there should be no hole given this whole is going to allow unfiltered air to come in. Do you think this was the correct way to do it and if not, how do I fix it? Putting some foil over it isn't doing the job as it comes out when I turn the damper to closed. Or maybe I should ask him to redo it as there is a similar hole on the other side too. Thanks

[color=#333333]We recently purchased a townhome. The townhome was built in 2019 (so only ~3 years old). It is a 3-floor townhome. The 1st floor contains the entrance and one bedroom, as well as the garage. The 2nd floor contains the living room and kitchen. The 3rd floor contains more bedrooms. For some reason, we are not getting any hot air coming out of the vents on the 1st floor of the home. [/color][b]I am confident that the vents/dampers are open.[/b][color=#333333] I have checked them multiple times. The furnace is located in the garage on the 1st floor, and the 2nd and 3rd floors each have their own Nest thermostat.[/color]

Is it fine to just use something like this instead: [url]https://www.allfilters.com/furnacefilters/9x11x1/merv13?p=6470[/url] Or is the recommended one perhaps actually 1" thick so these are a bit smaller?
