12" vent cover for 8" ducting ???

My old basement dehumidifier utilized larger ducting so we have 2 existing 12" vent covers in the wall. They look like https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/..._AC_UL320_.jpg and https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/..._AC_UL320_.jpg

New dehumidifier utilizes 8" ducting. Is there any sort of 12" vent cover that has an 8" connection? Or should I just fenagle the 8" duct (with tape or whatever) to stick to the 12" vent?

Or what would you guys do in this situation? I'd rather not patch the sheetrock to make the holes smaller to install 8" covers.

Thank you.

EDIT: I should clarify that the existing 12" vent covers are just covers (there is no adapter on the back to slide round ductwork onto). I guess something like this https://smile.amazon.com/HG-POWER-Ba.../dp/B078RLN218 just as an example is what I was thinking of (where the ducting connects to it on the back). Is there something similar in a square size, but/and where the square is 12" even though the duct is 8"? Or, again, how do people handle this type of thing where they have 8" round ducting and a 12" hole in the wall... Should I just literally tape something like this item from amazon to the back of the existing 12" grate cover and call it a day?

Can't you just use an adapter in the wall to accommodate the different size ducting and leave the grate untouched?

Hi. Update/slightly different question. Upon removing the old ducting from the back of the grate, I realized that it already pretty much had an adapter, with 'levels' for 12", 8" and 6". So my 8" ducts fit on the back perfectly.

That being said, I don't like that the grate/vent (sorry, not sure exactly what it's called) is static and points down/to the sides. While I could unscrew it and flip it so it points up and to the sides, I'd rather it point straight ahead (or up/straight). Pics are below.

Is there a different cover that I can buy and use in conjunction with the adapter that's already installed, and/or should I buy an entirely new setup?

I'm not sure exactly what all of this is called so I'm having a hard time googling it. Any specific links would be greatly appreciated.

Again, the black adapter on the back is perfect, I'm just looking for a compatible white grille/cover/diffuser (whatever it's called) that points straight out/up, not down (and possible not to the sides).

Thanks!!

You will just have to see if you can find a different grill. Often the grill and it's in wall mounting box are sold as a set so you might have to track down (or get lucky) to find that brand and see if they have a different grill. Or, just replace it all and get what you want. There probably wouldn't be much difference in the price.

You will need something like this...https://www.lowes.com/pd/IMPERIAL-12...oot/1000237439 then add the adapter to the back for your 8 inch ducting and add grill of your choice.
