Hello! My job is located inside a really old house. Recently, we’ve seen little bits of yellow insulation in the vents (they are on the ceiling). Nothing has come through the vents (that we’ve seen or noticed). Is this something we should be really concerned about? It was discovered in 3 of the 5 vents in the building. Just two or three pieces in each. Do we need to clean the ducts? I’ve found various things online…should we be concerned about the air quality in the house? Is it possible the entire place is contaminated with fiberglass? Do we need to clean the entire office space? I have seen things online that say to just do a simple dusting to evacuating the space and bringing in professionals cleaners and throw away all cloth items. Maintenance says that everything in the attic looks fine and is intact. Thanks for any help/insight.

Duct work can be insulated both internally and externally. Is one better than the other, couldn't say. I'd bet that the fact that your seeing yellow material means it's some type of fiberglass material and as mentioned it's inside the duct work, somewhere.
As a note I have both!
An issue, probably not, a nuisance, probably.
I'd suggest, start poking around the duct work from the furnace to the rooms and see what it looks like, could be just some old duct work that is easy to replace or some duct work with lots of panels attached to the inside that will be a big project to replace!
Hello everyone,
My main bedroom has a floor vent cover/register (I think I'm saying correct--new to vent heated/cooled houses) that is older than the other rooms. I think this is because the previous owner had large furniture that was difficult to move and never bothered to get it replaced when the others was replaced.
The issue I'm having is vent adjuster doesn't allow enough air to flow due to it being narrow but fills the vent cavity compared to the other style where there is just the open/close bar.
I'm posting as I'd like to replace the one in my bedroom to be the other style (pics below), but I don't know what size to order. It is an angled style.
The actual vent dimensions are: 12"x3.5"x3.25". The current vent cover dimensions are: 13.5"x7"x3.75".
There is no branding on my vent covers. Any recommendations on where to buy and what the correct sized cover should be? Thanks in advance.
Current style (what I want to replace):

Vent style I'd like to install (this is in the other bedroom and all throughout the house):

I picked up this attic Gable ventilation fan off Facebook marketplace for free. Now I have wired a lot of things, but HVAC is not an area that I'm familiar with. So my questions are, can I wire this thing directly or does it have to have a compactor? And, it has 4 wires, since I'm fairly sure this isn't a 220 volt unit then I'm going to go with the wiring must be for speed control. This is going to be mounted over the gable vent in the loft of my shop. I have tried installing Window AC units out here but 2 units in 2 years is getting expensive. And this is Florida, just a fan in the window doesn't do anything. I need to move some air. I really need to drop the humidity. But unless I'm moving this shop to a different part is the world that's not going to happen. So a fan in the gable vent it is. That will at last move a lot larger amount of air than this little fan in my window does.
So, I have Black, green, purple and brown. Those are all original wires from the manufacturer. The green is ground, the black is common I'm guessing. Anytime I know what the purple and brown are? And when this being AC which is the neutral. Black should be hot.
Like I said, HVAC is not something I'm familiar with. So, HELP, PLEASE.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
