Hello: WSilva. Welcome to the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

Check the door safety switch. If it is not closed fully or defective, the machine will not operate. Some machines allow all cycles except the spin cycle to operate when the door is opened while others do not allow any cycles to operate.

Depending upon the type of safety button used, you may be able to hold the button closed with a finger if it is not the recessed type. If it is, use a thin blade screw driver.

May also try a continuity test on the switch. be sure the electric power is turned off first and also prior to any other tests done for continuity.
