microwave display fading

I have a 15 year old LittonAire Generation II over the stove
microwave. The time display starts to get dim and sometimes fades completely away. A good rap on the display brings it back for awahile. I have had the unit apart and connected/ disconnected the wiring harnesses. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Just live with it? Replace whole unit?

Best to replace the unit. Unless you wish to buy a new board which would probably run atleast half the ammount of a new M/W.

I figured that would happen. I checked and it would cost about $180 for a replacement board. Not worth it to me.

I think there is something going on between the board and the fluorecent display, possibly one of those contacts is going bad.
