Problem with Whirlpool oven
When we bought our home 3 months ago, it came with a Whirlpool gas range, which we are currently using. It has electronic oven control. I have a question about this range. When using the oven, sometimes the oven will stop heating. It will make the clicking sound, but then does not ignite. What we do, is then shut off the oven, wait a while, then re-start it, and it will then work (sometimes). I would say that we have this problem every other time we use the oven. It looks like this range is quite new.
Can you tell me why this happens, what is causing it?
Is there something we can do about it?
Thanks,
Karen

The clicking sound is caused by the ignitor trying to re-ignite. Furnaces, gas frigdges will do this on startup and if the flame goes out. It could be your gas line, have you left the oven going after it flamed out? Could call gas company or repairman, but you might not want to do that if its a quick fix. Check your owners manual under "troubleshooting" and see if you can find it or anythign similar.
