Dryer - separate motor, blower fan
Apologies if this has been answered already. I _have_ tried the search facility but came up empty-handed.
fwiw, I've got a 30-year old Canadian Kenmore electric dryer which I believe is an Inglis; Westinghouse parts seem to work.
I've pretty much resigned myself to removing/replacing the motor but I have not been able to figure out how to separate the blower fan from the motor... without trashing the fan :-) Is it pressed on? The shaft on the fan is square
- about 13/16 (22mm).
Any separation/removal hints?
TIA

Hi tc17,
Welcome to the DIY Forums.
The fan should screw on to the motor shaft however these are LEFT HAND threads. Sometimes the fan has been on that shaft so long that there is no way to remove it without breakage. Hopefully yours will come off without too much trouble.
Good Luck and reply back if you have further questions
