Stove/oven trips circuit breaker

My girlfriend has an stove/oven that trips the circuit breaker. She says the oven or stove will stay on for about 1-20 minutes before the breaker trips. I turned on each burner (1 at a time) for about a minute today until they glowed red, but the breaker didn't trip. Then, with all burners off, I turned on the oven and the breaker tripped after about a minute. She said the breaker will trip with the stove on and oven off so the problem can't be isolated to either one. Any ideas on this? Where do I start troubleshooting this problem, with stove/oven or the electrical circuit from the breaker to the outlet?

Hi Jeff, -Happy New Year,
-I'd start by looking carefully at the oven elements for a hotspot or broken insulation. If no luck then unplug and remove the back panel and check condition of the block where wires come in to the unit, and where both elements connect. Look for burnt connectors, loose wire, broken insulation etc.
