Refrigerator troubles please help

Hello,
I am having some trouble with my refigerator. It was working fine untill now, it used to be very quiet. Last week it started making more noise. Now it makes a high-pitched whine and lots of "bubbling" noises. (Actually, it sounds mostly like Darth Vader breathing..) This model has a seperate freezer compartment on the bottom. In the top compartment the temperature on the bottom shelf is a few degrees below freezing, on the top shelf the temperature is normal. It is not clogged with ice anywhere. Is there anything I can do to get it back to normal? I read somewhere to turn the refrigerator upside down for 24 hours, but I'm not sure about that.
Thanks for the help.

DDNL, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Refrigerators are not normally discussed in DIY due to all the Federal Regulations concerning Freon.
I have never heard of turning one upside down. You may want to try unplugging it for a half hor to let the freon and oil settle back down. Good luck.

Ah ok, that makes sense. But I'm in Europe, they dont use Freon here. I guess I'll start looking for a new fridge then Anyways, thanks for the reply.
