Kenmore Dryer, no heat

Kenmore Dryer, no heat
I've read through some previous threads and have done some troubleshooting. Its a Kenmore 8788290 s/n MF4403477, bought in 1997.
- checked voltage at heavy red/black wires - 220 V
- checked resistance at heating coil - 12 ohms
- checked continuity at thermostats and cut-out switches - OK
- checked continuity at heat selection switch - resistance increases as rotated from low to high.
Since everything seemed OK, I plugged it in and mysteriously, the heat worked!
My only explanantion is that one of the thermoswitches is flaky and when I was removing the wires to test, that somehow the wiggling fixed the thermoswitches.
Any thought or advice?
Thanks,
Sean Douglas

Hi Sean, Welcome to DIY Forums,
- The intermittent thermo is a common problem, often terminals get hot and expand a bit. Another case of intermittents is a loose heater wire. The thermos are so cheap, I would replace them anyway to avoid recurrence of the problem. Try AMRE at 132 and 78th for cheap parts.
Do it Right - Do it once.
