GE Dryer Mod DBXR453EVOWW
1. Dryer not heating properly.
2. Cleared vent from dryer to outside exhaust.
3. Suspect bad heating element or obstructed venting inside dryer.
4. I'm stumped -- The side covers overlap the rear cover so it appears they must be removed to get the back cover off. Will someone please advise me hoiw to proceed. Thanks

Hi len123,
- the old style GE dryers do not have a removable back. If you look where the centre rear of the drum is and see a recess about 3x3" with a clip in middle, this is the drum bearing clip. You have to remove this to remove the drum to check element on some models. (Many dryers use the back and floor panel as the basic frame.) You should visually check the entire heating element, as they often get coil breaks that do not come totally apart, but cause erratic heating.
Do it Right - Do it once.
