First Water Dripping in fridge, now frost..

Started off after a power outage with water dripping from ceiling of fridge. Then all of a sudden frost forms in freezer, and fridge portion does not get cool anymore.

I searched and found the frost free failure, possible clogged drain line.

If I look at the top of the fridge portion, there is ice in what looks like vents for cool air to move from the freezer to the fridge.

My plan is to remove everything form the fridge and freezer and unplug it to let it defrost. Is this a good first step?

Thanks,

bkent

Hi bkent,
- I would check the defrost timer first. This is a small motorised switch, usually mounted near the compressor . It's in a socket with 4-5 wires leading to it, and can be unplugged to replace.

Do it Right - Do it once.
