Washing Machine Brown Stains

I have a problem with my washing machine...I am getting these brown stains on white cotton clothes...I have taking the washer apart and cleaned the outer basket. The basket is covered in this brown slim/mold grease type stuff, that breaks apart and enters the inner tub(where the clothes are) Just wondering if any one knows what the problem may be

Hi TravisBranch,
-I would check the inlet solenoid valve where the hoses hookup. There are small screens in there that may need to be cleaned. Run a bucket of water from each hose and see if the brown is in the water before it enters the washer.
-Are you by any chance on a well ? This material almost sounds like iron bacteria, which occurs in many wells.

Do it Right - Do it once.

I'm on city water...Also I forgot to mention, it sounds like theres still water in the washer after the cycle is over...Do you think that the water could be turning moldy??? And do you know if theres a set hight that the drain has to be in the wall??? I'm wondering if mines to hi or too low??? Thanks again
