Question Another Kenmore question

Kenmore washer Model: 110 20832 990 Type: 111, not sure you need all that but there it is anyway. Only 4 years old and it sometimes makes buzzing or schreeing sound. Seems to happen when it goes from rinsing cycle to spin and it does not spin. Open the lid then close it and it will start the spin cycle as it should, or turn off then back on it will start the spin cycle. Thinking maybe belt slipping, but looking at parts list I see it has a brake and clutch parts. No belt. Think maybe clutch going bad. Ideas from the experts please.

Hi Cluso,
- in the system that washer uses, the clutch and brake units work together to start the spin cycle. In this case, I would think the problem may be worn clutch shoes. The transmission has to be removed to get at either unit as they sit together on top of the trans.

Do it Right - Do it once.
