Washer full of water

My washing machine has stopped in the washing cycle and is full of water.
I have tried turning the dial to restart it and it sounds like it tries to start and then stops. I can hear the motor running but nothing is happening.
Help!

janiipanii, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I am not one of the experts in this Forum, however, I can save some time later. Whoever answers you will need a Name and Model number for your washer. There are so many kinds and the workings are different. An approximate age would also be helpful. (not yours, the machines). I am sure that with this info, you will get an answer to help you. Good luck.

Lets hope it is a direct drive washer and the coupling just needs replacing.
