Maytag Washer Spins Fast But Doesn't Drain

My front load Neptune Washer spins correctly, door locks, but it doesn't drain the water. The clothes aren't just wet, there's a lot of water left in the machine. I already had the board replaced because of the common R(?) burning out. I looked at the circuit board on the top of the machine and I don't see anything burnt. I looked at the pump and it sounds like it is running. It is small and I'm not sure how powerful it should sound. I'm wondering if there is a valve that is not opening. How does it know to open? Is it the suction of the pump that should open it? I also wonder if something could be clogging it. There are no kinks in the hose. Finally, we had a small flood in the basement and laundry room, about 1/2 inch of water. I wonder if water may have splashed onto the circuit board that is near the floor at the front of the machine.
Any thoughts and suggetions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David

If the tub is spinning and the drain pump is on then most likely there is an obstruction in the hose from tub to drain pump, the pump itself, or the drain hose. Get a pair of hose pinch pliers to pinch off the hose from the tub to drain pump and disconnect hoses to pump. Have a thick towel as it will get a little messy. Have you been washing rugs with rubber backing or items with stringy material that can easily come off? Scott

I'm not sure what may have gone in but I am going to remove the hoses and look for obstructions. I want to look in the pump also. I can't tell if the pump has a screw to mount it or if it is clipped in to a plastic mount that is somehow attached to the washer.
Thanks

The pump did twist off. I 1st found a quarter blocking the opening. I put it back together and it didn't work. I took it apart and found 3 more coins. Back together-still didn't work. Took it out completely this time-put some electricty to it. It made noises but the fins were not turning. I looked more carefully and saw a bobby pin stuck inside. Got it out-put it back together and it works! Ye hah! I can't figure out how such large things got in there but I'm thinking that maybe they can pass through where the soap gets loaded?
Thanks,
David
