No Juice to Coil

Hello folks, awhile ago I had a little mishap with my whirlpool electric range where some type of interaction between the hot coil, aluminum pot, and the water inside caused a minor explosion (more of a spark/pop) and that coil, and only that coil, has had no power since. I purchased a new heating coil, but still no power, should I replace the coil connector that runs to the board behind the unit???

Inspect the element recepticle for damage. If ok there may have been damage to the burner switch. You can probably switch it with another one in the console to see if it'll work.

Fridge stopped working

About a month ago my fridge stopped working. The freezer is having a hard time keeping up because the fridge is so warm but I think it is actually OK. We were going to just replace it – even though it is only about 6 years old – but then remembered the timing was about the same as when we had our whole place dry-walled. Could this be the problem? We have been building this 2nd home for some time so it is a constant construction area which I am sure, reeks havoc on appliances. Would just vacuuming the coils under the fridge be enough? BTW – the temp in the fridge is about 48 degrees. Thanks!Read More

How to remove aluminum scratches

I have a Kenmore electric stove with a glass cook top. I was doing a lot of cooking yesterday with multiple pans, and lifted a big frying pan off the front burner and slid a big aluminum stock pot (1/2 full of water) onto the burner. I later discovered 3 aluminum-colored scratches on the glass surface. It doesn't feel rough like it scratched the surface, I think it just left some aluminum behind. Any ideas how I can remove this?
