GE fridge leak in freezer compartment

Hi,
I have a side-by-side GE frige, model TFX22JR. Yesterday, I found that the interior of the freezer compartment was coated with ice. It obviously came from the ice maker since the bulk of the ice was splattered in the upper section of the freezer, near the ice maker and the fan.
I turned off the water supply, removed the ice maker and cleaned up the ice. Now, I'm not sure what the problem really was. I can think of only two possibilities:
1) A leak in the ice maker receptacle somewhere. But the supply tube looks ok to me.
2) A faulty control/sensor/something in the water shut-off mechanism. But that's a bit beyond my skill level.

I'd really appreciate some help on this.

Thanks,
Mike

The icemaker's fill tube could have been loose behind the rear panel. Push it all the way in.
