Hi, :alarm: The loud sound was coming from the washer! Not only that, it was shaking so violently, that it started to travel away towards the wall! The drum seemed to be hitting the body surfaces as it spun, creating that clamour.. We have had this Kenmore 90 plus series washer since 1998 (model 110.28972890), and it has never caused us any grief...nothing close to this has never happened to this washing machine before. After stopping the unit, I found no sign of water or any fluid around the floor. Can someone please provide pointers to what is wrong, and if I can attempt to fix it myself ? (I'd say I'm 5/10 on the HDS - Handyman Dexterity Scale)

Our dryer has started acting up. The first symptom was that it would start running immediately after setting the timer, before even pushing the "Push to start" button. Now it keeps tumbling even with the timer switch in the off position. The only way to get it to stop is to open the door. My best guess is that it is the timer switch that has failed. Is this likely to be true?
