washing machine gets to "drain" point, then stops

This is a whirlpool washer. It fills and agitates fine, but when it comes time to drain the water out, it just sits there full of water, doing nothing and seemingly not even trying to do anything.

I've tried rotating the dial slowly to get it to drain, but it just wont.

Any ideas?

Cant say about your machine.
But on a kenmore, I had the bracket that holds the door safety switch rust off preventing the machine from running in the spin mode.

Sounds Like The Lid Switch.... You Can Open Console And Bypass The Lid Switch To Test But If Its Bad Replace It Dont Leave It Bypassed...
