Whirlpool Washer Won't drain/burning electrical smell

I have a Whirlopool washer less than 1 yr old. Today while agitating in the rinse cycle, I noticed a burning electrical smell. When the agitation stopped, the machine quit working. I checked the breaker and it wasn't flipped. Now I have a tub full of towels and water. How do I empty the tub? The washer's in an inside laundry room, very tight access to the back of the washer, and it's too heavy for me to move it very far. After I get the tub emptied, what's the first thing I should start looking for--motor, pump, ??? Of course the only appliance repair shop in town is closed for the holiday weekend. Any advice would be appreciated!~mb
