Update:Whirlpool Washer Won't drain/burning electrical smell

After letting the washer sit for about 30 mins, it ran again (drained, spun). But the hot electrical smell came back while running. So, now that I can move the machine, what's my first step in tracking down the smell? I've done a small amount of repair on washers and dryers so hope I can handle this myself!

It may be easier to run the unit for a short time.1st make sure its unplugged. Check for the smell around the motor & wiring. When checking the wiring & other electrical components, look carefully for melting insulation & plastic.Good luck becareful
