Maytage Neptune Drying Center lint access

I have a Maytag Neptune Drying Center. The bottom half is the front-load dryer. I would like to remove the plastic "cage" that holds the lint trap below the door, but removing the two philips head screws does not do the trick. What else is holding this plastic frame in place? I don't want to break it.

The lint trap works very poorly - it does not collect much lint, and I see lots more trapped around this plastic cage, but it is difficult to access, even with a lint trap brush.

Thank you for any assistance.

Thanks for your reply, BambiBlaster. Are the screws that hold the control panel accessible from within the upper drying cabinet? Otherwise, I don't see screws for it. Should I unplug the dryer first, and will there be wires inside I have to disconnect? (I haven't DIY'ed a major appliance before...)

Will I void any warranty or service contract by opening this up, and if so, how can they tell?

Thanks again!
