Inglis washing machine leaking oil

I have an Inglis washing machine that has leaked out all its oil. I want to replace the gasket but I want to know if there is anything in the oil pan that will spring out at me if I open it up. I also need to know how to fill the pan back up with oil and what type of oil I need. The washing machine is a belt drive. It doesn't look to hard but I figure I'd find out if any one has done anything like this and knows what is in the gear box or what ever it is that contains all the oil.

Thanks,

GW

The oil leaks from the seal at the agitator shaft.Better idea is to install a rebuild tranny and belt .Make sure there is no waterleak from the bearings. It is a fairly difficult job .
