Elec Dryer Tripping Breaker

I have a Kenmore Electric Dryer Model 86873100 about 13 years old. It continuously trips the breaker. I have checked the connections from the dryer to the power source; everything is ok there. I have taken the exhaust duct off (flexible metal) & vacuumed it thoroughly as well as vacuumed as far as I can reach from the hood end. It must not be the exhaust. The top of the dryer gets extremely hot while running & will only run for about 10-15 minutes before tripping the breaker. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Thanks.

Do you mean tripping the circuit breaker in the electrical panel or one of the protective devices on the dryer.

There is much more to the vent system than just the hose. Check it all out.

Yes, it is tripping the breaker in the panel, not on the dryer itself.
