Another GE Dryer with fun problems

After reading tons of problems, I followed the directions for venting the dryer, to see if this would correct our problem. Nope! Can anyone help?
We had moved the vent from a side and out, to an up and out. Reason: we built on a room and can no longer vent to the outside anywhere. Two weeks later the top of the dryer is getting HOT! No I mean HOT!! Egg frying hot! We have checked the vent and it seems fine. Approx. 15 foot run, ridgid 4" duct through the roof. To connect to that 4" ridgid, we put in a 4' (maybe 5') flexible metal dryer hose from the dryer. I even have the machine sitting out in the middle of the room, now, to make sure there are no kinks in that hose. Getting good air flow on the roof, vacumned out the ducts from dryer, up, even before it was pulled out in the middle of the room! Concerned it may start a fire. Now with the dryer pulled out, the top is still getting HOT, AND, now it is also is taking 3 times as long to dry a load!!! ???? I know, it sounds like a vent problem, what am I missing? Besides the owners manual I can't find!! GE Answer center showed the same duct restriction as I found here. No other solutions, other than call a serviceman!

And a really ""stoopid" question - is the "console" the top part where the timer and heat contol buttons are located? I want to kill that buzzer!

Number off the inside door panel are DBXR463ED1WW.

Thanks so much for any help we can get on this before it's used for target practice!
