kenmore ultra wash dishwasher door latch
our dishwasher latch suddenly refuses to engage now. the model is 110763591 (I am in Canada). I opened up the door, but the door handle / latch mechanism seems to be solenoid controlled with four lead attached, and I can manually move the latch into the closed positon but it will not stay.
any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated - getting married in a few weeks and would love to have a working dishwasher now!

dgoveas, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
I am not the expert in this Forum but it sounds like you have a bad solnoid switch. Dishwashers have at least one,and most newer ones have two door switches. These need to be checked. They can be found at the console behind the door latch area. Your DW was built by Whirlpool.

dishwasher latch
I had the same problem when the latch on my fridegidaire broke. I purchased the latch assembly from a company on the internet and it was real easy to install. Dishwasher works great again. Saved myself $350.00. The latch cost $30.00.
