GE Washer won't drain

I've got an older GE washer that won't drain. It makes a light humming sound that seems to be coming from the pump, but doesn't move any water at all. Is my pump shot, or is there something else I should check first?

Thanks in advance!

GE Washer

If its the older style that the whole back comes off you can remove the back & see whats going on. The motor & pump will be on the left side. Pump is above motor & is connected by a leather-like coupler. Run it on spin & see if motor is spinning pump. Could be one of the clamps broke on the coupler, pump bad or something like a sock went over the inner tub & is blocking the line from the tub to the pump. If pump seems ok, locate the line coming from the bottom of the outer tub to the pump & remove slowly to see if any water is coming through it. If not, something is blocking the drain hole inside tub.
