Dishwasher clogged
I've never had a problem with my Frigidaire dishwasher. However, after the last load of dishes that went through the cycle, I noticed there was water at the bottom that would not drain. The previous day I had soaked a pot in the sink that had gotten burned with black eyed peas. When it came loose, I just put it down the garbage disposal. Do you think that's my problem -- that the garbage disposal is clogged????? The sink drains fine, and I can't think of any other reason for the dishwasher to be clogged. Please help!

Dishwasher clogged
If your dishwasher drain hose is attatched to the drain directly under the disposal, take the dishwasher drain line off & see if the line is blocked or the line the dishwasher hose slides onto is blocked. Use a stiff wire to run into the drain to break-up the block. Dave

I would not advise using a caustic drain cleaner since the dishwasher hose is plastic. Should you want to try a chemical cleaner, try an enzyme cleaner such as Draincare. Enzyme cleaners cling to the clog and eat them. It takes overnight but does work. Enzyme drain cleaners are available at Home Centers, hardware stores and Walmart. About $8 for a container that has many applications in it. Follow label directions. Good luck.
