I have a Whirlpool washer that was purchased a little over 1 year ago. Unfortunately, about 2 weeks ago (2 weeks after 1 year anniversary purchase date) the blasted thing started sticking on cycles. It would fill up with water and quit. After a few moments, it would start back up and agitate and stop. A few more moments would go by and it would complete the next cycle. A normal load of washing that would have been through in say 30 minutes, was now taking over 1 hour to complete.
Beginning this past Sunday, it would no longer start back up on its own. We have had to go in and push the knob in and then 15 minutes later pull it back out to get it to start each cycle. This caused a normal load to be 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete.
Yesterday, the washer completely stopped and will not do anything. It is full of water with a load of towels inside.
Please help!!! MommyG4

First thing to do is get those towels out of there and let them dry. My whirlpool did something similar last spring and it was the timer. Whirlpool warrantied the parts even though the washer was three years old.

See if you can locate the model number on the washer.
Since its full of water try putting the washer on its final spin
on the regular cycle. Does it pump the water out? And does it run
to the end of the cycle and shut off?
