2001 Maytag Atlantis Transmission.

I have a Maytag Atlantis washer built in 2001. Had problems with this from day one. Well now the transmission died on me. I disected the machine and have the trans out. The trans cost around $210 to replace. The original part # is 21001536. Maytag now has a replacement part of 21001867. It is slightly different looking. I have a choice of either unit.

Does anybody know if the new part # 210001867 is a better built trans than the old one??? I hate to spend $210 on the same piece of junk if it's only going to break down again in 2 -5 years.

Just my own opinion,
If you’ve had a lot of problems with it I would burry it and put that 210 bucks towards a different washer. I would do this before it starts cleaning out your wallet instead of your clothes.
