I have a Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher that runs fine..you can hear the water draining and running..there is no blockage that I can tell.. but it doesn't get any water to wash the dishes..a plumber looked at it and said something about some type of valve but the water can get to it..but for some reason it is not getting inside the dishwasher to wash the dishes..anyone heard of this before or have any suggestions? Thanks..

The plumber was probably referring to the fill valve, which controls the water turning on and off per the demand of the controls. Inside the dishwasher there is a mushroom looking thing in the front left side. This prevents the dishwasher from overflowing, similar to that in a toilet. It captures air or floats and tells the electronics when to stop sending water. This valve may be stuck in the down position. Pick it up and drop it back down to ensure it is moving freely. If that doesn't do it, then you can go to the fill valve and replace it. It is the valve directly below this mushroom, to which your supply line attaches. There are two electrical connections to it, so be sure to turn off the power to the dishwasher before sticking your hand up in the electrical part.
